Supreme Champions - supplied to the BKKS Show

Details of supreme champion koi supplied to the National BKKS Show by Infiltration.

Commissioned by Tategoi-koi (Global rights owner) and written by Peter Waddington, June 2008.  Written exclusively for Tategoi-Koi © 2008

1982 – Yamabuki Ogon owned by Joe Wilmington from Liverpool.

The standard of Koi back then was very low in comparison to today’s National however, at that time, these were the very best Koi in the UK. Today Ogon cannot compete for Supreme Champion award as challengers for this have to fall into Kohaku; Sanke and Showa varieties only. I bought this Koi from Miyakoya in 1981. At the show she measured around 20” – we did not have centimetres back then.
